At The Clothing Bank, it’s our people who make all the difference to those we support. Without our community of volunteers, supporters and donors, we would not have been able to flourish into the Yorkshire-wide charity that we are today.
Today, we have hundreds and hundreds of people within this network that we like to call The Clothing Bank Community. Everyday, this community works towards a shared goal of ending the UK clothing crisis, changing lives at every step of the way.
However, despite our continued growth and success here at The Clothing Bank, we know that there is still more that needs to be done. In times of growing economic uncertainty and instability, clothing is becoming inaccessible to the poorest in our society.
It is only with more people, especially volunteers, that we can continue to combat this and make a difference to the lives of people across Yorkshire, and beyond.
Growing our community helps us to prosper
As a Yorkshire-founded charity first established in 2020, our network here at The Clothing Bank is deeply rooted in Yorkshire’s communities.
Over the past few years, we’ve seen our volunteer base grow to regions such as Nottingham, Liverpool and Newcastle.
However, we know that there are still plenty of people beyond these regions, too.
Our volunteers are the beating heart of our charity
The volunteer role at The Clothing Bank oversees a variety of tasks.
Whether it be helping to sort through clothing donations, taking clothing donations at a certain drop-off point, or distributing clothing to those in need, our volunteers are integral to the runnings of our charity work.
However, it’s important to note that we don’t wish our volunteers to restrict their lives to the single purpose of supporting our charity. In fact, many of our exciting volunteers manage their time to fit around other work, family time and relaxation.
This is because we believe that working at The Clothing Bank should come from a real passion to help the community and lend a hand to people in need, not a job that takes over your everyday life.
